Colorado Fall

Grant, Colorado

Danny and I decided a few years ago to celebrate our anniversary in September rather than January, as January in most of the mountainous places we love to explore usually includes frigid temps, heaps of snow, and a lot of businesses closed down for the harsh winter months.  September has become a long expected month each fall for the chance to hit the road again together and explore some place new.
This year, given our impending move at the end of the month, and unforeseen health issues that cropped up we were left with a three day getaway rather than our typical week long venture, and I am so glad we chose to take advantage of the small window!

Grant Colorado is a little gem of a town in the Rockies with far more local businesses and patrons than I expected for its size, and is the last town before Guanella Pass, one of my favorite places for camping.  Just enough time for some gold panning, aspen peeping, fresh mountain air and tasty local eats.

As we left the mountains behind and settle into the drive home we both agreed far and away the most beautiful part of the trip was having the chance to see my sweet Aunt Becky who is in rehabilitation currently in Denver recovering from Covid Phenomena.  It did our souls good to pray with her and get a better gage on her journey thus far, and what lies ahead in recouping her strength over the months to come.  Family is a blessing that will never cease to amaze me!   Grace in abundance, every time.
